Contemporary chamber music
Featuring Cathy Stevens: Violectra Udo Dzierzanowski, Alessandro Bruno: guitar
Hailing from Robert Fripp’s legendary travelling Guitar Craft school, the Europa String Choir (ESC) brings a hypnotic and unmistakable sound to the stage. A trio of excellence comprising Cathy Stevens on the Violectra (a 6-string electric viola) and Udo Dzierzanowski and Alessandro Bruno on guitar, characterised by the famous New Standard Tuning. With four albums to their name — including their landmark debut Starving Moon and their latest comeback album Sassoska — their instrumental music combines technical complexity, rhythmic dynamics and a profound attention to silence.
