Concert: Bat Battiston & The Cannonballs

One of our best bluesmen, Bat Battiston, returns to the Magic Blues. Guitar and harmonica, he has been on the scene for over thirty years now, inspired by great bluesmen such as Robert Johnson, Lightin' Hopkins and Big Bill Broonzy. In addition to performing in various clubs, he has taken part in ‘Piazza blues’, ‘Blues'n'Jazz’ and ‘Blues to Bop’ on several occasions. In 1993 and 2000, he was invited to the United States to the ‘Charleston Blues Festival’. For the occasion he will be accompanied by long-time friends Robi Panzeri, Mad Mantello and Federico Albertoni and his The Cannonballs. Winners of the Swiss Blues Challenge 2021, the band represented Switzerland at the finals of the European Blues Challenge and reached the semi-finals of the International Blues Challenge in Memphis. And for the occasion we will have another illustrious guest: More Experience guitarist Marcel ‘Jimi’ Aeby. The top of Ticino's Blues at the Magic Blues.

For the first time in the Valley, Iris Moné will open the evening. Iris is a Ticino singer-songwriter transplanted to the States, who is taking her music around the world with her enthralling energy. Live, her enveloping voice and music manage to involve and entertain, but also to deeply touch the hearts of listeners, sharing with the audience the life experiences behind her songs.
